Red Breakfast Smoothie Recipe
This recipe for a red breakfast smoothie will help you get your day off to a good start. Here is a balanced meal that includes an assortment of vegetables, berries, healthy fats, and protein. I know that some folks are a bit turned off by green drinks, and this one does include a lot of green veggies, but it contains a secret ingredient!
Ingredients:
- Large handful of dark leafy greens such as parsley, romaine lettuce, kale, etc.
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 stalk celery chopped
- 1/4 cucumber, peeled and seeded to reduce the lectins
- sprig of fresh mint
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 scoop Organic Beet Root Juice Powder
- 1 scoop protein powder
- a few Tablespoons organic olive oil
- water as needed or coconut milk
Directions:
- Place all the vegetables and berries in your blender
- add the powders
- add about 6 oz. water
- start the blender and add water if needed
- slowly add the olive oil with the blender running
Choose organic produce when you can. This is a nutrient-dense meal with a good variety of vegetables and healthy fat from the avocado and the olive oil. Very satisfying.
